No. We have laptops specially configured to the class we teach.
Classes are taught on our machines specially configured with all the necessary programs, so students don't have to waste time with downloading and setting up programs. This means teachers can focus on teaching code. But if students want to work on their code at home they can access their work from our servers. Course notes are also available online to our students.
We feel it is preferable to use the laptops that have been set up for you. That way you won't waste valuable learning time with version incompatibilities, permissions settings, and other computer problems. However if you want to set up you computer to practice at home we have resources available.
We feel that students get plenty homework at school and we feel that assigning required homework would not be in keeping with Ripcoder’s spirit of fun. We encourage students to work on project at home if they wish on their own computers, and we make resources available to them to assist them.
No you are free to go off and return at the end of class. You are also welcome to remain with your child if you like. It's up to you.
Certainly, you are not required to stay but you are very welcome.
We use deposits as a way to gauge genuine interest plan accordingly. We also use your deposit to hold you place in a course. It is therefore not possible to offer a refund.
Have you just booked a class only to discover that it conflicts with your attempt to walk barefoot up Mount Fuji. Luckily your best bud would like to take the course. Please give us a ring and we'll sort it for you.
If you wish to take a break for one or more 4 week terms, please let us know as early as possible. Assuming a place is available, you are welcome to rejoin the class. Although we cannot hold your place, we can offer priority re-admission if no place is available.
Age recommendations are just that: recommendations. We do not restrict admission to the recommended age groups. However courses are designed to appeal to the children of the specified age. We strongly advise against placing you child in a class designed for a much older group as you child might become either frustrated or bored and might be turned off programming all together.
Please let us know you child’s wishes. Assuming a place is available in his chosen class, he is welcome to move. If no place is currently available we can move him as soon as a place comes up.
Our fee structure is based on a 4-week terms. No refunds can be given for individual classes missed. However if you wish to take a break for one or more 4 week terms, assuming a place is available, you are welcome to rejoin the class. Although we cannot hold your place, we can offer priority re-admission if no place is available.
